On the coast and hinterland plantation species such as blackbutt (Eucalyptus pilularis), spotted gum (Corymbia maculata), and southern pines (Pinus elliottii, Pinus caribaea and their hybrids) all perform well. On the tablelands radiata pine (Pinus radiata) is a proven performer.
